Macsen Apollo is an MC from the Bay Area who has made a name for himself through his long-time rap career. As part of the V.E.R.A. Clique out of Oakland CA, the MC has released two group albums to date: Very Essence of Real Artists (2004) and Fresh out the box (2008). In 2011 he released his first solo album Matters of the Heart. Apollo has worked with various well-known artists, including D’ Wayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Tone, Joe Scudda of Justus League and Dahrio Wonder. He has performed with Hip Hop artists such as Dead Prez, Del The Funky Homosapien, EPMD and DJ Premier.
During his residency Macsen Apollo worked on The Apollo Project together with creative agency Vinger.nl and producers collective Raven Bros. The work sessions at the Ravennest resulted in an EP with five brand new Hip Hop tracks featuring local and international artists Jay Colin, M.D., Mizztamizzo, Ell-I-Dee, D. Riba, Anne Brattinga, DJ E Train and Jason Dunman.
