ZEDZ is an infamous Dutch spray paint graffiti artist and renowned graphic designer. After gaining fame in the late 1980’s with his exceptionally styled street art pieces he studied graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. ZEDZ was one of the first to explore graffiti-architecture in collaboration with Maurer United Architects and is still expanding and exploring his means of expression by collaborating with a range of professionals from different disciplines. His work has been exhibited extensively all over Europe and has been showcased in numerous magazines and books.
During his residency ZEDZ worked in tandem with local artist Mick La Rock. They researched the possibilities of blending their visual languages in order to create new and refreshing work. Their collaborative endeavour resulted in several small-size canvasses, a series of three-dimensional collages, and a mural at the tennis park/ playground of Kraaiennest. They presented their collaborative work in the studio during 24H Amsterdam Zuid/Zuidoost and their collaborative mural piece is still on view in public space.
