Ailsa B. Anastatia holds a BA from the Academy of Fine Art in Education Tilburg and an MA in Education in Arts from the Amsterdam School for the Arts. Her work consists of series of paintings, videos and (mixed media) installations. Her techniques vary depending on the vision she wants to impart, however space always forms a central theme within her work. Since 2007 Anastasia has been teaching at Kolegio Alejandro Paula (PSC) and in 2012 she taught a special course at Instituto Buena Bista.

During her residency Anastatia created several new paintings and collaborated with Avantia Damberg on the animation video Nigra Videri (Black to be Seen). This video was presented during the opening of the Black Magic Woman Festival. Next to this Anastatia and Damberg created an exhibition together at the Centre for Visual Arts Zuidoost (CBK Zuidoost) around the central theme of Black Magic Woman Festival: Sharing Identities. In the exhibition Anastatia showed several new works that she made during the residency. The animation video Nigra Videri was also exhibited within the group show Amsterdam In Front Of You at the Pop-up Gallery Amsterdam.
